Educational Institution Adopting Sustainable Building Technology- New Delhi

Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science & Technology’s Periya Computer and Management Centre, reputed for vocational education and skill development, adopted Hydraform interlocking block technology for its new campus to promote sustainable construction and practical learning. The university integrated the technology into the project by setting up Hydraform machines on-site, creating an opportunity for hands-on training in block manufacturing and masonry skills.

Excavated site soil was used to produce stabilized interlocking blocks, followed by the use of fly ash from a nearby power station as an alternative material. The high-quality blocks were used for the building structure, and specially designed Hydraform paver blocks were produced for the campus driveway.

The project demonstrated how educational institutions can embrace green building practices while reducing construction waste, utilizing recycled materials, lowering costs, and creating a real-world learning environment for sustainable construction technologies.
